The company, the Pryon Group, having security that "makes the Pentagon look like Disneyland," Michael decided that they should go after the CEO, Jack Vale, instead. When he asked Sam if Elsa could help them with "props" to make them look like super-wealthy military buyers, Sam replied: "I hate this so much already." Mr. Kruger and Charles Finley looked the part but Vale absolutely refused to reveal any specifics about their "snipers who can shoot the tail feathers off a hawk from two miles away." The Next best thing was to have Andrew Thompson, the regional manager, show them through a training facility in South Carolina and Mike declared "that is acceptable," because he saw Thompson lusting after the Rolex he was wearing. The idea now was to try to con Thompson into an ultra-high-paying job with Kruger in order to get to see files on people he could bring with him. However, Mike had to bow out of the con in order to go protect Fiona from the two CIA idiots, Manaro and Bailey, who wanted to use her for a job as "their newest asset." Jesse's first attempt at suggesting a "side-deal" to Thompson completely failed and Sam decided they would let him feel self-righteous overnight and make a different approach the next day. The next day Jesse feigned that Kruger had found out, wasn't happy and made him apologize with a 50-year-old bottle of Scotch – letting slip that he was a new hire and was paid a half-million a year. They told him that Kruger was impressed with him and suggested he take a job in their organization. He initially refused but after a few drinks and as they were walking out the door, he called them back to find out more about it. He eventually signed a contract; then, when pressured, said he would sit at his desk while they went in to look at the files they wanted to see.
Gabriel Manaro and Matthew Bailey, the two incompetent fools who nearly got Sam killed, TWICE, were demanding that Fiona help them with a case they were bungling – or else, go back to prison. Sam, of course, was incensed and recited the litany of their arrogant blunderings but there was nothing Fi could do except to go break into
Vincent Durov's safe like they wanted her to. Durov was a Ukrainian aerospace executive who wintered in South Florida and had now begun, according to Manaro, selling to terrorists. He claimed that he had an "asset," Durov's girlfriend, who had revealed that there was a planned sale of ballistic technology to very bad guys and the informant couldn't crack a safe. Mike realized that Manario was once again scamming and called him on it. He then revealed that a previous operative they had sent had been killed and Sam blew up again.
"Yea, you'll support her until she's no longer 'mission critical' then you'll run like scared little girls." (not exactly the words I would have called them but it'll do for now.) The only way Michael would let Fi work with them was to go himself - not open for discussion. Fiona met
Angela Flores who seemed like she was an idiot and convinced her into pretending she was a modeling friend from Milan who needed a place to stay for a couple of days. Mike watched in the security van while Fiona was screened and searched by the security team then "patted down" by the lecherous Durov himself.
Manaro told Fi that Durov was across town until the afternoon so they went for the safe; but they found it the kind that they would have to drill and were without tools. Fi said she could get used to the CIA gadgets and asked if the two did "freelance."
"No," Manaro blustered,
"we work for the CIA!" Fi countered
"of course, if you worked freelance you could afford better suits." The two clowns had merely hacked Durov's schedule but never bothered to institute surveillance so they were wrong about it and Durov arrived back at the house. Fi needed to hunt for the serial number so they could get a drilling diagram which delayed them to barely outside the office door when Durov caught them. They were supposed to meet Manaro out shopping to get the diagrams but all he wanted to do was argue about
"having no authorization" when Fi told him to arrange for a
"sabotage play." She noticed the guard start toward them during the arguing, so he called Manaro a
"perv" and pushed him away in order to save his life. Fiona stuffed her newly purchased belt into Durov's tail pipe and, when the car stalled, suggested they find a close mechanic instead of the long wait for the spare car to arrive. The closest garage was where Mike and Manaro were trying to convince the owner to "loan" it to them for awhile. Unfortunately, the clowns nearly screwed that up too and Mike had to subdue the owner in addition to carrying out the con. He planted Fiona's diagram and tools onto Durov's car which they knew wouldn't be searched. Fiona and Angela retrieved the tools and planned to get into the safe the next day while Angela kept Durov busy watching a game on TV. Mike was then going to pump carbon monoxide in the gas line to set off the alarms so they could evacuate and escape. Instead, Angela came up to the safe and revealed herself as "the real spy" and the one who had killed the first CIA agent. She zip-tied Fiona to the safe and set up a bomb with a break-wire trigger, so it couldn't be disarmed, then locked the door. Fi was able to get free and call Michael to have him prevent Angela from leaving so she would need to come back into the house. Mike did, using an exploding van (Manaro's) at the gate. Manaro began flailing about like an idiot screaming he was going to burst in and get the information they wanted. Mike had to disarm him and hold him at gunpoint advising
"you had your chance, now we're gonna do it her way!"
When Durov caught Fi she told him that she was with the CIA and what Angela was doing, but he wouldn't believe her. So, she told the guard he could disarm the bomb by cutting the break-wire. Of course, when he started to do it Angela had to expose herself so she didn't get blown up as well. Fiona told Durov that she knew he wasn't the one selling secrets but if he killed Angela she would have no way of proving his innocence.
"Either you die in prison, or she does." He let Fiona take her. Bailey and Manaro were about wetting themselves with glee and praise, so Mike said:
"What do you want?" They wanted Fiona to cover up their bumbling in her report. She told them
"you write what you want but find my agreement with the CIA and lose it – for good." They said
"it sounds doable" and Mike ordered them
"then do it!"
With only the initials of the gunman: "T.G.", Mike decided that he would now have to go back to Vale with a requisition for someone who would exactly fit T.G.'s capabilities. Vale came to the meeting very upset saying:
"you ask for a sniper cleared on five different guns, experience in Costa Rica and speaks Farsi! Did you think that I wouldn't figure out you're looking for Tyler Gray?" He said the wasn't going to talk about it on the phone and ordered that they and
"the guy you got following me" back off. When he stood up to leave he was shot and killed through the window, similarly to Nate and Anson.
